Mulroney at odds with Harper's lapdog leadership on environmental file

To mark the 20 year anniversary of the Acid Rain Accord in 1991, National Green Party leader Elizabeth May, who was a senior federal government policy advisor and then executive director of the Sierra Club during the negotiations, recently caught up with former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney to reflect on the breakthrough treaty.

They spoke about the challenging negotiations involved, the importance of Canadian leadership when confronting environmental issues with the U.S., and what conclusions to draw from the successful accord when planning effective climate change strategies going forward.
