Prison Farms = Horticultural Therapy
By Arleigh E Luckett on 19 March 2009 - 8:01pm
I would argue that not only do prison farms have the potential to teach values and skills that are transferable to every workplace such as planning, teamwork and the satisfaction of seeing (and eating) the results of honest hard work but they should also be viewed as horticultural therapy.
I didn't really understand why the government was suddenly set on closing these programs until I saw the Green Party's press release pointing out they meant to sell off agricutural land and not necessarily for continued agricultural use.
