TerraSphere and the Green Party?
By Michael Vaillancourt on 3 August 2010 - 8:19pm
"As a new deputy leader for the Green Party, I see TerraSphere as the truest form of self-sustaining economic development. Also, as a spokesperson for PETA and an advocate for the vegan diet, TerraSphere's mission to provide fresh, organic produce to urban and rural communities worldwide is in alignment with my beliefs and values."

Michael, interesting quote...
Michael, thanks for posting this. It's of interest. Now, a few questions...where did this quote come from?
I admit that I haven't been following Georges Laraque's career off of the ice as closely as I'm sure some others have. I'm more than a little surprised to discover that Laraque is a spokesperson for PETA, an organization which, in my opinion, is not one which our Party wants to have any association with. I'm sure I won't be the only other member troubled by that.
Second question: do you know what TerraSphere is? Because I don't. I just googled it...seems to be some sort of environmental engineering firm which sells scrubbers? I think I may have arrived at the wrong TerraSphere...let's try that again...ok, there they are: TerraSphere Systems, LLC...they build "highly efficient systems for growing organic fruits and vegetables in a controlled, indoor environment." OK, I think I saw something about this in some of the news stories appearing over the weekend, in that they referenced Laraque's interest in urban (and vertical) gardening. OK, seems alright so far...but is this a for-profit company? I'm not sure...their website lists a number of partners, including private businesses and governmental organizations.
I sincerely hope Georges Laraque is careful about not associating his position in the Party with for-profit corporations. As I don't know that's what TerraSphere Systems is, I'll wait for more information.
But as far as his association with PETA goes...that's going to be a problem, I think, given PETA's capacity to piss people off with their outrageous statements to the media and dumb stunts. If Laraque wants to take his new role as Deputy Leader seriously, I think he would benefit from disassociating himself with the likes of PETA.

Here's some more information about Converted Organics Inc.:
Sounds fishy to me.
Hmm, a penny stock trading on the NASDAQ with the symbol "COIN". Yikes. The 3 month chart looks horrible to boot.
