NREL report shows vast wind capacity in US

Recent report by NREL shows that wind power in the US covering UNprotected lands can reach up to 37 million gwh annually (approximately 4 terawatts average capacity.). Now is the time for governments to invest in research to make wind power as affordable as possible. Harnessing this power can eliminate the vast majority of fossil fuel use. It's just a matter of economic motivation. The cheaper wind power and electrical storage becomes the sooner this will become reality.

NREL...
By the way, what I didn't mention above is that the latest survey shows wind power is up to 3 times what was previously thought. I'm not sure why there is such a difference.
Also, to put it in perspective, Ontario can consume about 25Gw (25 billion watts). 4 Tws is 40 times that -- or about enough for the entire US (obviously the US can't live off wind power alone, but a significant percentage of its power needs can be met strictly from wind power.)
