What will you do?

Without me. It's time to go for me. I have invested plenty of time in my self-imposed effort at "raising the bar" among political Greens in Canada. The Ontario party lost my backing for poor behaviour. I probably would still vote Green provincially, but certainly not because it is merited, rather as hopeful protest.

As for GPC, as I've said many times, it is not the proper focus for political Greens in Canada, GPprovincials would be. The closer to municipal mostly the better, but our municipalities are ruled by the provinces, which need not be all that bad in our huge land.  So, setting out with relatively low expectations both for federal politics in general and Greens in that context in particular, I have not been overly surprised by the lack of more positive signs from GPC.  I certainly take into consideration that so much is volunteer effort, as my own. That much is pretty much all praiseworthy. But at this point it's time to turn my attention away from GPC, I have matters politically green to better pursue otherwise, be they via other parties possibly more responsive and more able if needed.

I have detected that I have had positive influence here. I'm also aware there are rather many who would be satisfied to see me move on, for various reasons.  Whatever use you have made of all the words I've poured out here, very many while standing alone in controversy, never unfortunately really meeting adequate opposition; however much some of you have benfitted from my contributions, do take this parting recommendation to never be satisfied with the reigning culture of superficiality in our politics, always study, it is for your own enrichment and all those you come into contact with.  And do not shy away, as almost every Canadian tends to do, from confrontation. You are living during the start of the sunset of an era centred on European, later North American, hegemony. Old ways, including culturally imbedded positive ones like deference and politeness, need not necessarily always apply as a newer era is being born.  A birthing mother should be free to vocalize as she wishes.

It is too bad I feel that my contributions are better directed elsewhere at this point.  I do not know if I will renew membership.  I'll almost certainly still vote GPC. As my membership runs out in a few months yet, and as there are some conversational and controversial threads still occasionally re-opened here that I have participated in or initiated, I'll keep looking back now and then to see if my comment is warranted.  In any case, it seems there is a general head office desire to bury the blog activity a little more from too public view, and many bloggers have bolted to their own sites, so I feel that much less compelled to respond here.

One request I have repeatedly made that has been ignored, not that important but rather useful to the serious blog discussion participant I've been, is the ability to track other bloggers' contributions here.  So since it is not available to you to track me at http://www.greenparty.ca/en/user/930/track , and there are some people interested in looking up what I've had to say, there is after all quite a bit of experienced thought that has gone into a lot of it, even if quickly and informally trotted out as afforded by this wonderful medium; I'll list those "track" pages in full (to date) here, and do find informatively provocative as intended my many contributions as you wish. (It'll be useful for me, too, if & when my login access here runs out at membership lapse.)

If anyone wishes to contact me, the email address to use for now is ck872 AT sympatico.ca .

[EDIT: i neglected to mention that the links, quickly copied from the track pages, will not work from here as the link locations differ for some reason -- all you need to do is copy an underlined link title and use between quotes in a reliable search engine, to thus indirectly arrive at the webpages where the contributions are; in any case, i hereby permit the webmasters to allow open access to my track link above, if it's a privacy issue, making all this easier for anyone interested -- you know, i have put out a lot of interesting stuff...]
