Ross Johnson

Fifty year old Ross was born in North York Ontario. He takes great pride in his now grown daughter, whom he raised as a single parent since 1997.  Ross lived and worked in Mississauga Ontario for 40 years before moving himself and his daughter to Saulnierville Nova Scotia in 2000.

As a young man, Ross attended school in Mississauga for primary and high school. A graduate of South Peel Sec School in 1978 (with Honors and a Marketing award) he ventured after graduation into the work force for a few years and onto George Brown College for the Gas Fitter II course. Continuing to pursue his studies, he then went onto Humber College of Applied Arts and Technology for the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Course, graduating in 1985. Ross then enjoyed various jobs in the maintenance industry and ran several successful businesses before moving to Nova Scotia where he worked as a plumber, ship builder, sawmill foreman and ran his own business on the side.

Ross is currently a certified home inspector, tapping into his wealth of knowledge in maintenance and mechanics. Ross is a man of many talents and interests. He has enjoyed team sports such as organized hockey and baseball. He was a member of the Toronto Sportsman’s Association where he was involved with the sporting rifle and casting activities, often volunteering his time to the Toronto Boat Show, and Sportsman’s Shows for many years. Throughout his life, Ross has maintained a love of music and has become a skilled percussionist and guitar player. He has even been known to participate in a few local bands over the years. An avid photographer, Ross prides himself in his skill at portraying the beautiful nature scenes available in his adopted province and on his travels throughout the country. Ross also enjoys reading and increasing his knowledge of history in his spare time.

After hearing an interview with Elizabeth May Ross was inspired by the Green Party as it seemed more personally relevant to him than the other mainstream parties. Ross decided to join the Greens and become a candidate for his riding of West Nova.  As a resident of Nova Scotia since 2000, Ross knows the issues relevant to the West Nova area and has a vested interest in his area. Many changes are needed to highlight the West Nova area and make it a thriving area to live, work and play.

Ross Johnson is the nominated candidate for the Green Party in the riding of West Nova.
