Green Party’s Chateauguay - St. Constant riding candidate Ms. Clara Kwan hopes that her election campaign can raise public awareness on the various environmental problem we are facing today, and the importance of immediate response and action.
Human beings’ irresponsible activities led to the destruction of our nature. The earth is sick now. Our air and drinking water is polluted. The vegetables and fruits, the meat and seafood we eat contain different types of poisonous chemicals, such as pesticides and hormones. Many people (young and old) are sick because of these foods. Government policies in these areas must be visionary, clear and decisive.
We all know that the heavy burden is put on our family and friends when we get sick. However, most of us have neglected that our health care system and economy are also greatly affected. Our party, GREEN PARTY, is not just an environmental issue party. Our policy platform covers all aspects. We have a set of visionary policies on environment, education, health care and economy, etc. Our country has the second largest land mass in the world. We have the world’s largest fresh water reserve. Canadian environmental policies are directly affecting the betterment of our earth. We need a greener land for our children, grand-children and great grand-children. Please support us. A young candidate of 27 years old, Ms. Clara Kwan, was born in Toronto to Chinese immigrant parents from Hong Kong. She grew up in St. Hubert, Quebec and finished her primary and secondary education at the school “The Study”. While studying at Concordia University, Clara Kwan has actively participated in the activities of Sierra Club and Montreal GreenLife. She was also the coordinator of HIV/AIDS Awareness Week for two years. Clara opened a green, organic food store in Montreal two years ago and is actively promoting local organic farm produce to the public.
