La Pointe-de-l'Île
Mr. David J. Cox, his wife Sandrine Guillot and their two children have called Pointe-aux-Trembles their home since 2004. His affiliation with the Green Party stems from a deep seated belief in taking initiative, conscientious change and environmental responsibility.
David is committed to hold oil and gas companies liable for the maintenance, upkeep and eventual dismantling and decontamination of the refineries that fill Pointe-de-l'Île . He is dedicated to protecting families and citizens from Industrial misdeeds and pollution and is convinced that building a greener Pointe-de-l'Île, Quebec and Canada is not only possible, but necessary and advantageous.
Educated at the British Columbia Institute of Technology and Carleton University, he is a strong advocate of accessible education and believes that all people should benefit from a healthy, nurturing environment that permits everyone to develop their full potential.
After exploring the country, publishing a book of poetry and exploring a multitude of work experiences, David launched his writing and translation company Words Written Write in 2006.
Since moving to Pointe-aux-Trembles in 2004, he has been an active community member:
- Instrumental in getting the Montmartre water park built.
- 3 year Member of Michelangelo Elementary School Governing Board
- Volunteer at CKUT and CHOQ radio stations
- Artistic Director, Invisible Cities Network
- Member, Quebec Writers Federation
- Volunteer, Association du Hockey Mineur de Pointe-Aux-Trembles
- Minor league baseball assistant coach
Volunteering for radio, political, sporting and artistic endeavours have helped David fall in love with Quebec, the French language and Montreal, and he now wishes to return the favour by representing his riding as an MP.
David Cox is the nominated candidate for the Green Party of Canada in the riding of La Pointe-de-l'Île.
