Valerie St-Amant
Valérie was born May 31, 1980 in Montréal. She moved to Longueuil when she was 4 years old and lived in Rive-Sud until she was 19. After nearly a decade in Montréal, she decided to return to her roots and moved back to The Rive-Sud. She has since, been living in Brossard for 5 years.
Her main desires to move back was to be closer to the beautiful parks and
green places. Valérie holds a degree in sociology at UQAM and is currently
working towards a certification in HR management at Concordia. She worked
for Bell Mobility as a recruiter for 6 years and is now employed by Desjardins.
Valérie St-Amant is a vegan boxer who works for a healthier Earth! She chose
Longueil as a city to fight, in both boxing and politics. The majority
of her family is from Longueuil which has given her the chance to be close to
the community to promote ethical choices. People always wonder how they
can help the environment, they think about transportation and recycling but they
don't think that eating less meat can make a difference.
She is a member of the vegetarian association of Montréal and they often participate in events to talk about the impacts of meat consumption on Earth. She is positive, that together, we can make a difference on our Earth.
Her life is a prime example of changes and it has made her believe that in life, anything is possible. Less than two years ago, she was overweight, smoking, and inactive; the idea of being a candidate for The Green Party was far from her mind. She finally took control of her life, lost 75 pounds and started training. She is now an avid runner in marathons and fights in many boxing matches.
She sincerely feels like she’s returned to life and wants to do her part for our planet and animals. For years, she was not thinking about what she was buying and consuming, and wasn't asking herself questions about what she was choosing to buy.
Together, alongside The Green Party, she believes we can make a difference!
Valérie St-Amant is the nominated candidate for the Green Party of Canada in the riding of Longueuil - Pierre-Boucher.
