Louis-Phillippe Mayrand

Originally from Gracefield in the Pontiac riding, Louis-Philippe Mayrand has been a consultant since retirement in 2005 from The Health and Social Services in Outaouais. He holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration and has held several senior management positions – such as Director General in numerous departments in Ottawa from 1985 to 2004.

He is proud to have actively participated in the smoke-free project for Québec as a member of the Health Commission of Gatineau, which led to a total ban of tobacco smoke in all public buildings in Quebec.

Louis-Philippe was elected as Councilor in the town of Gracefield in 2005 mainly to carry out environmental projects ignored for decades. The City of Gracefield poured untreated sewage into Gatineau River and its treatment system for drinking water since the 1960s. Thanks to his determination and team of Councilors, the Town of Gracefield has since established a system of treatment tanks guaranteeing good quality drinking water for several decades to come.

As the President of the Federation of Associations of lakes and rivers of the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau since its formation in 1995, he has been able to help with several initiatives that have generated significant progress in protecting the environment. He is also regionally involved in the management committee of the watershed of The Gatineau River as treasurer since 2006.

Louis-Philippe is convinced that the future of Pontiac is through the Green Party of Canada, the only political party with the freedom to act for the true welfare of all Canadians.

Louis-Philippe Mayrand is the nominated candidate for The Green Party of Canada in the riding of Pontiac.
