Québec
Yvan Dutil holds a Ph.D. in astrophysics from the University of Laval. He has worked in Canada as well as internationally in areas of expertise such as space, defense, education and academic research. Yvan is also a successfully recognized scientific communicator. He has been strongly interested in issues relating to energy, democracy and sustainable development for many years.
Yvan is
currently the scientific coordinator of the Industrial Research
Chair in energy technologies and energy efficiency at the School of Higher Technology at
Québec University. His research focuses
on
heat storage
in
phase
change materials, sustainable building
and
on
economic biophysics.
He is currently continuing his research in the field of astrobiology.
As an engaged
citizen, Yvan has
made many submissions
to the National
Assembly of Québec on energy issues to control greenhouse gas
emissions as well
as
on
electoral reform.
He
has become an expert
in this
area,
which led
him to propose innovative solutions that can easily
be applicable
to Québec and
Canada. In addition, he was the
initial creator of the First International Dark Sky Reserve at Mount Megantic. In 2008,
he
was
a candidate
for
the Green Party
of Quebec
in Jean-Talon.
Yvan

is the nominated
candidate for the Green Party of Canada in the riding of Québec.
