Tim Landry

After graduating from St. Francis Xavier University in 1967, Tim Landry taught for two years and then joined the insurance business. He has been involved in the industry ever since, specializing in what are called “Living Benefits” – Disability Insurance, Critical Illness and Long Term Care Insurance. He has  worked directly for insurance companies and for distributors - Managing General Agents – who represent many companies. 

Tim has appeared on radio (call in show in Halifax) and television – Marketplace – to discuss these products and has prepared training manuals for agents to use while learning them. 

Tim is involved with the Hepatitis C Foundation after his brother became infected with tainted blood during a surgery which saved his life after an automobile accident in 1988. 

Tim was intersted in Scouting for many years and has become active in the International DI (Disability Insurance) Society. 

Tim’s prime interest going forward is our aging population and what we must do to provide for them. He was born in 1945 – when there were only 42 taxpayers per retiree.  In 2030, there will be two per retiree.  Testifying before the Romanow Commission on Canadian Healthcare, Dr. Brian Day stated that," if we continue on our present path, Medicare will consume 100% of the Federal Budget by 2030."

 Tim is married to Elaine Lagace and has one grown son, Jonathan.

 Tim Landry is the nominated candidate for the Green Party of Canada in the riding of St.Laurent-Cartierville.
