Burlington
Graham Mayberry has been working at an Environmental Laboratory in Burlington for the last six months. His position as a lab analyst requires much deliberation, dedication and, of course, substantial on-going teachings from his more experienced supervisors and colleagues. This is a true representation of who he is and how he approaches each day and decision that will dictate his future.
He left the outskirts of the small, Oxford County town of Ingersoll for the ‘Big City’ as he endeavoured to obtain a degree from the University of Toronto. While earning the H.B.Sc (majors in Zoology and History) he was able to truly appreciate the meaning of university as he tested the waters of all areas of studies - from Philosophy to Astronomy to Marketing to Geography - no stone remained unturned. His summers were spent working for the Easter Seals Society of Ontario at Woodeden Camp for children with disabilities. Located just outside of London, he worked the way up from Counsellor and Ropes Course staff to Program Director and Assistant Director through the course of six summers.
After concluding studies in Toronto, he spent a year volunteering at Ten Thousand Villages and working as a male nanny. The following September Graham and his brother were off to South-East Asia and Australia to visit and explore. Learning from different cultures and taking in the varying landscapes confirmed the need to embrace what we have here in Canada and encouraged him to be active in preserving it. His interest in representing the Green Party stems from the experiences in the past, but more importantly, his desire to live in a bright and prosperous future. The need for a voice in the government that will represent all generations and promote individual and environmental well-being is paramount to a strong, healthy nation. Graham is young, born the same year as the Green Party was founded, which means he will have the energy and enthusiasm to represent the people of Burlington in matters which will benefit us all.
Graham Mayberry is the nominated candidate for the Green Party of Canada in the riding of Burlington.
