Mississauga South
As many other Canadians born abroad and who have chosen Canada as their home, Paul was born in Brazil, and moved to Canada as a teenager. This proud Canadian strives to be a progressive community activist, holding active membership in several community and grass roots organisations. Paul is also a strong supporter of a sustainable economy, clean energy and environmental stewardship, having publicly debated issues relating to climate change, fiscal responsibility and environmental prosperity.
Paul has been involved in the Green Party since 2001, and has participated on several elections as a candidate in Mississauga and Brampton. Paul once held the post of Project Coordinator for the Green Party of Ontario.
Paul also served as a reservist in the Canadian Forces, as both Naval and Air Force Officer. He currently continues to support the military community in the following positions: Communications Director at the Naval Officers Association (NOAC), Editor of BUMPH, the quarterly NOAC Toronto Branch Magazine; Board member for the NOAC Sea Cadet Scholarship Fund, Webmaster for the Naval Club of Toronto; and Webmaster for the Toronto Sea Cadet Alumni Association. Paul also volunteers with the Terry Fox Great Canadian Head Shave, and founded the “Toronto Sea Group”, formed by members of Toronto’s Naval Family, with intent to support Naval Officers and Sea Cadet units.
Paul is the recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal, the Navy League Medal of Long Service and the Canadian Forces Decoration.
Paul is a married father of two, and lives in Mississauga.
