St. Catharines

Jennifer Mooradian

Jennifer Mooradian has been a resident of the Niagara region for 37 years. She attended Queen’s University where she pursued a Bachelors Degree in Politics, followed by a Bachelor of Health Science Degree in Midwifery from McMaster University. Jennifer and her partner Geoff currently reside in St. Catharines where Jennifer worked as a midwife following graduation from McMaster. She is currently taking time off from midwifery to raise her daughter, Emi.

While politics has been a lifelong interest, Jennifer only became involved with the Green Party in the last few years. Her passion for the environment, her concern about climate change, and her conviction that Canada could be a leader in humanitarian issues drove Jennifer from the sidelines to the forefront. She ran as the Green Party candidate in Welland during the 2008 election. Jennifer sees St. Catharines as an area with incredible potential, from eco-tourism to excellent post-secondary institutions, a world-class wine industry and a hub for interactive media. She is proud to represent a dynamic, innovative, and welcoming community for the Green Party of Canada.

Jennifer envisions a Canada in which the economy is sustainable, community growth is environmentally and economically sound, and we again take our role as leaders on the international stage. She is committed to the Green Party because its policies best reflect her values and commitments, and promise the best future for her daughter and all Canadian children.

Jennifer has been active her community working as a midwife. She has worked as a member of the Niagara Health System Accreditation Team and the Maternal-Child Quality Improvement Team for St. Catharines General. Jennifer is a member of Niagara Climate Action Now where she volunteers when needed. Jennifer organizes the Niagara chapter of “Green Drinks” with the hope of fostering networking and collaboration amongst community-minded individuals.

Jennifer Mooradian is the Green Party of Canada's nominated candidate for St. Catharines.
