Calgary Centre
William Hamilton makes his living as a communications consultant and small business owner from a home office in Calgary’s Beltline Communities. In his line of work, communicating with people is critical to his success. On any given day, he is writing opinion pieces for local dailies, recruiting and co-ordinating volunteers for community open houses, or teaching second-language learners how to express themselves, but his job is clear and simple: Give people the information they need to make the right decision. Give people the tools to finish the job.
Just as importantly, he is an advocate for better transit and for a more liveable, sustainable Calgary. His background on municipal issues, inner-city living, and transportation policy helps him understand your priorities as a voter in Calgary–Centre, because he believes in the future of the city, and he appreciates the strength and vibrancy of its communities. Whether he’s writing reports on light rail development strategies, standing before City Council to talk about transit issues, or working with people sharing a passion for making transit second nature, he understands how far Calgary’s transit system has come and how far it has to go. And he understands how sorely we need a voice in Parliament that gets transit.
If you want to work in a smart economy, live in strong communities, and speak in a true democracy, he wants to work with you to make these ideals a reality in Calgary–Centre. But he is going to need your help. And he hopes that he will earn your support and your vote on May 2 as your Green Party of Canada candidate for Parliament.
William Hamilton is the nominated candidate for the Green Party of Canada in the riding of Calgary Centre.
