Halton
Judi Remigio is a teacher at the Halton Waldorf School,
Burlington, which is part of the non-profit, independent Waldorf education
movement. Judi grew up in rural Essex County in southwestern Ontario. Her
father worked in the automotive industry and her mother was a nurse working
with geriatric patients. Judi attended the University of Windsor attaining an
Honours BA in Psychology, an Honours BA in Religious Studies, and a Masters
Degree in Religious Studies. She then went on to secure a Bachelor of Education
degree. While she was at university, Judi volunteered with the Third World
Resource Centre and through them assisted the Canadian Auto Workers union in a
project to promote democracy in El Salvador. She was also an active member of
the Environmental Awareness Association at the University of Windsor, and a
member of the Citizens Environmental Alliance.
Following her university years, Judi was employed by Parks Canada at Point
Pelee National Park where she was involved with interpretive programs and
children’s programs. At this time she also commenced the training required to
become a teacher in the Waldorf school system.
Judi and her two children moved to rural Burlington from Windsor in 2003. As
Halton’s Green Party candidate, Judi states “I plan to do my best to relate
this party’s brilliant and well-researched platform, sharing the triple bottom
line of economic,ecological and social approach to every policy and position.
Judi Remigio is the nominated candidate for the Green Party of Canada in the riding of Halton.
