Kate Storey

Kate Storey is an innovative organic farmer, a successful business manager, a committed Green, and a community leader with a solid track record of getting things done.  She holds a Science degree from the University of Manitoba and worked in conservation researching the woodland caribou herd and later as a habitat specialist for the Nature Conservancy of Canada.  Kate and her husband raised their four children on the family farm at Grandview.

As an ecosystems specialist, Kate's work emphasizes sustainable, balanced and holistic management.  She transfers this insight to her volunteer endeavours as a board member and planner, developing balanced solutions to complex problems. Kate is Women's Advisor to the National Farmers Union and has made presentations to parliamentary committees.

Kate has a real passion for community service. She is a long-time volunteer putting families and communities in the forefront of all her responsibilities.  She has managed her church board, the school parent council, and donated her time to many community organizations. She was founding director for the Manitoba Organic Marketplace Association, served on the Manitoba Rural Adaptation Council and the Farm and Rural Stress Line board and is the Green Party of Canada’s advocate for Sustainable Agriculture.

Kate's current projects include developing a sustainable farm management business plan, serving on the Manitoba Organic Alliance board of directors and spearheading the national Food Policy project for the Green Party of Canada.

Kate Storey is the Green candidate for MP in Dauphin Swan River Marquette.
