Trey Capnerhurst

Trey Capnerhurst is an activist, professional musician and artist, traditional healer, and entrepreneur. She has been on stage since age four as a child prodigy, and was fully trained as a classical coloratura soprano. Earning her Certificate in World History from Geneva by the end of high school, she left her professional music career to train as a petroleum geologist. Unable to reconcile the cost to the environment and humans by that industry, she switched her focus, apprenticing as a traditional healer, and has now been in practice for over a decade.

As an advocate for the most disenfranchised, Trey spent five years working nearly exclusively with the lowest socioeconomic spectrum. She has been involved in community work since her teens, with various NPO's, such as arts, social and environmental activism, and LBGT community organizations. Locating networking and information gaps, she created and continues to self-publish the Greater Edmonton Green Pages, a directory of local health promoting and/or ethical businesses and groups, as a free public service. She has also created numerous and highly successful on-line spaces for communities to network in healing, spirituality, and activism, and is currently writing a series of books on those topics.

Trey has lived in Edmonton East for over 15 years and was very proud to be the Green party candidate in the 2006 federal election, with one of the highest vote ratios of Green votes in Canada. She currently works from home training apprentices in the traditional skills, health consulting and creating organic cosmetics, herbal health and healing preparations for clients, and taking care of her nine-year-old daughter and two-year-old son. Through her candidacy Trey hopes to promote a Green message of health, harmony, and empowerment throughout the riding and the country.  Trey also ran in the 2008 election with similar success.

Trey Capnerhurst is the nominated candidate for the Green Party of Canada in the riding of Edmonton East.
