Great Green Opportunity!

One of Canada’s most loved authors, William Deverell, will be turning his next book launch and tour into a Green Party media and fundraising extravaganza!

Great Green Opportunity

Your community or Green EDA is invited to organize fundraising events with  silent auctions and book signings with Bill Deverell! Bill will not be able to go to every part of the country, but he plans to try!  A book tour by VIA rail, a literary whistle-stop is planned – Election or no Election.

Bill Deverell is a multi-award winning author, winner of the Dashiell Hammett Award for Literary Excellence in North American Crime Writing and twice winner of the Arthur Ellis Best Novel Award.  After practicing law in BC and Alberta, and trying more than 1,000 cases, Saskatchewan born Deverell turned his talents to writing crime fiction (imagine John Grisham with a big sense of humour and based in the Gulf Islands!)  He is the creator of the TV series “Street Legal” as well as the hugely popular series of courtroom dramas featuring Arthur Beauchamp, QC, who keeps trying to sever his connections with the practice of law – only to be dragged back to Vancouver from his home on the Gulf Islands.

In Bill’s last novel, Kill All the Judges, now out in paperback, his eco-activist wife, Margaret, has been nominated as Green Party candidate in a riding that incorporates parts of Saanich and the Islands, where Elizabeth May is now running in a nomination contest -- and it's a nail-biter of a campaign. In his new political novel, coming out early in October, Snow Job, Margaret battles the old-line parties in Parliament as she fights for Green measures.  The story is spiced with spy intrigue, an international crisis, and a witty look at a fumbling Conservative cabinet.

Bill Deverell and his wife Tekla live on Pender Island. (www.deverell.com)
