Group of 4 host meeting of Ottawa Green candidates and Leader Elizabeth May
On Wednesday 25 June 2008, the Group of 4 hosted a lunch meeting for all the nominated GPC candidates in the NCR, and their CEO and other supporters.
We thought we might be lucky to get a dozen people. In the end there were around 30, surpassing all our expectations.
The meeting was opened by Sylvie Lemieux, who did so much of the work in planning this meeting. This was followed by a 10 minute presentation by Qais Ghanem about the Group, its activities and aspiration.
Each of the candidates then addressed the meeting for 2-3 minutes, introducing herself/himself, and describing her/his platform and vision for the future of the country.
This was then crowned by a short speech by Elizabeth May who never fails to rouse and inspire the troops!
The G4 would be pleased to keep any and all of the other candidates informed of similar future activites and would like to establish very close cooperation in advertising, buying lawn signs, holding more town hall meetings similar to the 3 held by Ottawa South, for example. You can get in touch with any of the 4 members, with your ideas and suggestions:
Sylvie Lemeiux
Paul Maillet
Akbar Manoussi
Qais Ghanem
I took lots of photos at the meeting. 2 dozen of these are at:
