Four in Two - and the complaints begin

For the fourth time in under two weeks, I received a new flier from my MP last Friday. This one once again featured the Green Party and Elizabeth May as one of the four ballot choices - yay for us! This shower of paper has finally drawn some notice and criticism in the local press: http://www.thebarrieexaminer.com/ArticleDisplay.as...

My personal beef is with the claim that "the Conservative Government [is] turning the corner on greenhouse gas emissions." That's news to me - my understanding is that our emissions are still increasing, and with tar sands expansion, will continue to do so for some time still. To "turn the corner" they would at least have to level off as a prelude to decreasing. I think it is far more accurate to say "the Conservative Government is turning their backs on greenhouse gas emissions." Perhaps that's what they really meant to say.

I got two in BC

I too received these at home in Burnaby mailed from the MP in Abbotsford.

One says
"The Conservatives are standing up for Canadian Interests, at home and abroad - Rebuilding the Armed Forces - Defending our Arctic - Standing up for security and human rights around the world."

The other one says
"Age is no excuse. Young thugs are committing crimes without fear of consequences. The Conservative Government is clearing up the youth-crime mess. Keeping dangerous youth criminals off the streets while awaiting trial. Tougher sentences that send a clear message: Crime has consequences."

Where are the arctic ships (non-icebreakers that they ordered)?
Are youth crimes really rising... or are we just reporting it more and have less tolerance for it? (see the macleans article)

Don't get me started on Human Rights... as an example - we haven't improved our record at home.

I circled the Green Party of course and wrote a big (in green ink) "Green party all the way" on their "survey". Do you think they will get the message?
