Harper the hypocrite - again

Stephen Harper would like you to think that he & his party do care about the environment - despite putting it second behind the economy (as if that made any sense, as if you can have one without the other).

But his own actions still put the lie to that. I remember a nice spring day in May, 2004 when Paul Martin took a little stroll from 24 Sussex Drive to Rideau Hall - right down the street, with multiple camera crews in tow. (None collapsed from exhaustion on the way).

So what did Harper do on this refreshing September morning?

Rode in a 4-vehicle motorcade, including a van and an SUV:

Which I'm quite sure were idling the whole time, as security details seem to feel necessary. (Outside such an insecure location as the Governor General's residence? Please.)

Even on a cold November day in 2005 Martin only needed one limo. Is Harper paranoid, or just ego-inflated? How many security guards accompany him to the bathroom in his own home, I wonder?

Here's to a non-Harper PM on October 15!

RE: more Harper hyprocracy on Sunday September 7 2008

When Mr. Harper made his announcement to the Canadian public about the election, he did not even have the courage or ethics to take responsibility for his actions or words. On National TV he said "The Governor General has seen fit to dissolve Parliament". Like blame her!!! But, who asked her to do this? I wonder what would have happened if she had said "No to him"? It has happened before in Canadian political history. I would like more Canadians to stand up and say "NO to Mr. Harper. mlm
