I am GREEN

I have been an environment based person for as long as I can remember. During the energy crisis in the 70's I was the one who turned the lights off around the house. I was in my early teens at the time.
I started supporting Greenpeace in 1980.
In 1988, I was recycling before anyone else in Toronto. I lived in Ingersoll Ontario at the time, where the first real recycling program started up.
My family of 4 has for 17 years put out less garbage than any other family in the area. I was actually featured in a small magazine that was distributed in the Toronto area regarding being garbage-LESS. We put out only 1 small can of garbage every 2.5 months. We recycle and compost and refuse over packaged items. We have no toxic products and use enviro friendly products, and buy organic whenever possible.
I do have 2 cars, both being Canadian made ULEV (ultra low emission vehicles).
I have voted for the Green party since they entered Canadian politics. It was great to see a candidate smarten up last year and cross the floor to the Greens. It was better to see Ms. May shut down our PM (Steven Harper) at the recent candidate debates, and surprisingly seem to have the backing of Jack Layton.
Green. A great party, with the future in mind. My families, and my ideology!
