Harper's Conservatives have once again shown they cannot be trusted to manage the economy

Harper's Conservatives have once again shown they cannot be trusted to manage the economy. They turned the routine fall economic update into an opportunity to drive a death knell into the near bankrupt Liberal party. First, Harper broke his own fixed-date election law by having an election a year early at the tax-payers' expense, which cost over $300 million. Now they are using the economic downturn as an excuse to save less than $30 by ending proportional subsidies to parties, which they are the least reliant on.

Let's remember why Chrétien brought in this funding to parties - to reduce the influence of money in politics. This is something all Canadians can get behind; unless of course, you put politics before principals like this Conservative government does.
