For the Ombuds Committee to investigate and resolve complaints in a timely manner through to a collaborative resolution, it’s important for you to complete the following steps in full. We appreciate your help and look forward to serving our members.

Filling in the details on this form will usually take about 10-15 minutes.

The Ombuds Committee will NOT accept complaints based on the following:

Disagreement or difference of opinion regarding policies
Personal disputes
Employment issues

Step 1: Can I make a complaint to the Ombuds Committee? *

For your complaint to be accepted, you must confirm each of the following:

I am a member in good standing of the Green Party of Canada

I have been treated unfairly by an official unit of the party acting in an official capacity.

I have attempted to resolve the concern directly with the other party(ies) involved and have appealed to relevant oversight body(ies).

I understand and agree that the Ombuds Committee must notify the other party(ies) of my complaint, and will ask questions of the other party(ies) and anyone else who can provide helpful information.

I understand and agree that if my complaint is accepted, Ombuds will investigate and prepare a report with recommendations that will be sent to me and to the other party(ies) involved.

I understand that the OAC may consider my conduct in the matter of my complaint.

Which unit of the Party -- which official, Council, committee, or EDA -- do you think treated you unfairly?

Specifically, what did that entity do or fail to do that is your primary concern? When did it happen?

When and how did you try to resolve this complaint directly with the other party(ies)? What was the outcome?

How have your rights been affected as a result of what happened, and/or what is your concern about GPC governance?
