Guided by the Green Party's recent policy statement from January 9, 2024, emphasizing international law and human rights, we call upon the Government of Canada to take bold, political action in alignment with these principles.

The Israel-Palestine conflict has seen enduring suffering, with lives lost and rights violated. The Green Party's renewed stance underscores the imperative of international law and justice as the foundation for resolution.

We demand that Canada:
1. Champion International Law: Become a vocal advocate for the application of international law, ensuring justice and accountability.
2. Support a negociated Ceasefire: Actively endorse international efforts for an immediate ceasefire, safeguarding all civilians.
3. Facilitate Diplomatic Solutions: Utilize diplomatic influence to promote peaceful dialogue and negotiations.
4. Provide Humanitarian Aid: Deliver essential supplies to alleviate the suffering of those affected.
5. Promote Accountability: Support efforts to hold violators accountable for their actions.
6. Encourage Dialogue: Engage in initiatives fostering mutual understanding and reconciliation.
7. “Respect the ICJ's Decision: We urge Canada to acknowledge the provisional measures outlined by the ICJ and strongly encourage the State of Israel to comply with the decision, in line with international law and human rights principles.”
