Young Greens Newfoundland & Labrador
I am passionate about working towards a kinder world. Born and raised on the Beothuk and Mi’kmaq lands here, I am now finishing my biology (ecology and conservation) and geography degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland. After graduation, I plan to pursue environmental law.
I’ve been recognized with awards from Nature NL, the Stewardship Association of Municipalities, and Conservation Corps NL for my community involvement and environmental efforts. A large part of my work has been with a grassroots movement for environmental rights in Canada sparked by David Suzuki. I serve as a local Blue Dot Movement Ambassador and have worked with municipal and federal politicians to progress the movement.
Over the past year I have also been working to grow the Young Greens locally, and have been organizing a new Green Party campus club. I am happy to be serving as the inaugural Newfoundland and Labrador Representative on the YGC council. In my dedication to this work I have been learning a lot and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to continue serving the Young Greens membership in this role.
