Elizabeth May unveils 2019 Green Party candidates for Halifax area

HALIFAX – Local restaurant owner and 2016 mayoral candidate Lil MacPherson is running for office again. Green Party leader Elizabeth May (MP, Saanich-Gulf Islands) was in Halifax today to announce the party’s candidates for the ridings in the HRM. Ms. MacPherson will be the Green Party candidate in Dartmouth-Cole Harbour.

Ms. May was joined by Deputy Leader and podcast host, Jo-Ann Roberts, who is running in the Halifax riding.

Other candidates announced today:

Thomas Trappenberg, the Leader of the Green Party of Nova Scotia and a professor of computer science at Dalhousie University, in South Shore-St. Margaret’s.
Richard Zurawski, Halifax City councillor and meteorologist, in Halifax West.
Anthony Edmonds, aerospace engineer, in Sackville-Preston-Chezzetcook.

“I am so grateful for the willingness of these strong, qualified candidates to step forward now,” said Ms. May, “Like so many people, our candidates are driven by the urgency of the climate crisis and the need for people-powered politics in this country.”
