OTTAWA - The Green Party of Canada is proud to congratulate the BC Green Party on a strong and inspiring campaign during the 2024 provincial election. Thousands of volunteers dedicated their time, energy, and passion to helping the Greens spread their message of sustainability, social justice, and a future built on climate action. Their hard work has been reflected in the victories we celebrate today.
We are thrilled to congratulate Jeremy Valeriote on his victory in West Vancouver-Sea to Sky. This is the first time that a Green MLA has been elected outside of Vancouver Island. Additionally, Rob Botterell has secured a victory in Saanich North and the Islands, bringing critical Green leadership to these communities and ensuring that strong voices for climate action, environmental protection, and social justice will be represented in the BC Legislature.

Furstenau has been a dedicated, powerful leader who has inspired many through her years of service and leadership in the province. We are confident she will continue to be an influential figure in Canadian politics and in the fight for a sustainable and just future.

Now, like all British Columbians we await the final seat count to know which party will have the best chance to form government. Let’s hope that the Green caucus has a pivotal role.
