Elizabeth May will visit Cochrane and Airdrie, Alberta

Event Description

Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada, will visit Cochrane and
Airdrie, Alberta, on Friday March 9.

Ms May will be in Cochrane for a major policy announcement on Community
Infrastructure Development at 12:40 pm at the Nan Boothby Library (405
Railway St W) in front of the contaminated Domtar site. Elizabeth May, Dr.
Sean Maw (Green Party Candidate for Wild Rose) and Tim Giese (local
environmental expert) will be available for Q&A afterwards, for
approximately 45 minutes.

At 2 pm, May and Maw will tour the Cochrane High School's award-winning
solar project, talking to students and staff. Photo opportunities will be
available.

At 3 pm, Elizabeth will drop by MacKay's for an afternoon snack before
heading off to Airdrie for the evening.

Starting at 4:30 pm, Elizabeth will take part in a book signing at Airdrie's
Page and Turners book store at #280, 960 Yankee Valley Road SE. Local media
will also be welcomed to interview her at this time. She will depart Page
and Turners at about 6 pm to head for a party dinner function at the Bert
Church Theatre from 7-9 pm. Tickets are $30/person and must be ordered
through seanmaw@shaw.ca in advance. This will be a perfect opportunity to
meet Elizabeth May in person and to talk with her about the Green Party.

Press kits will be available at the press conference in Cochrane. If you or
your news organization plan on attending, or if you have any questions,
please contact either Sean Maw (at 403-932-0002, seanmaw@shaw.ca) or Mark
