Join Elizabeth for the "Salute To Vimy 100" commemorative ceremony at Fort Rodd Hill
6:00 pm to 7:00 pm - Activities: Listen to music by the 5th Field Regiment, RCA Band and stories by historians and local military re-enactors, do commemorative crafts, enjoy hot chocolate around a campfire. Stop by the new Women on the Home Front display to appreciate the role of women during this time of war.
8:00 pm - Ceremony: Official speeches, a colour party from Royal Canadian Legion Branch 91 and a tribute to Victoria’s own General Sir Arthur Currie.
8:30 pm - 100-round rapid fire-barrage by the guns of the 5th Field Regiment, RCA: As the ground trembles from the powerful shots and the deafening sound echoes across the land and sea, imagine what our Canadian soldiers’ must have felt at this very moment 100 years ago.
