OTTAWA - Thanksgiving is a special time when families and friends get together, share a meal and give thanks. It is also a time to remember that, while there is much to be thankful for in Canada, for many people there is little reason to celebrate.
For some, Thanksgiving can be a time of great loneliness, for others it is a weekend when the hardships of daily life may seem more acute than usual. Let us resolve, therefore, to take this opportunity to help those in need – to reach out to a neighbour or donate to a food bank or shelter.
To all those celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend, and in the spirit of gratitude and giving, the Green Party extends warm wishes for a peaceful and happy holiday.
