DETAILS
The Organizer is a member of a national organizing team working at the grassroots level to identify and recruit quality candidates. Some travel within the region is necessary. Hours of work vary and may include weekends and evenings. During an election, organizers are required to work extended hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruit candidates
- Support and train candidates
- Ensure candidates are registered with Elections Canada
- Respond to queries from candidates and EDA officials
- Maintain contact information in party’s database for candidates and EDA officials
- Track data regarding candidates, EDAs and campaigns
- Ensure candidates and EDAs comply with party and Elections Canada regulations
- Work in federal campaigns as assigned
- Other duties and projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to communicate persuasively and to write clearly and concisely
- Enjoy working with people and have a positive, professional, courteous, and service-oriented attitude
- Self-starter, takes initiative and can work effectively without daily supervision
- Team player with the ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships
- Familiar with the Canadian federal political system, with knowledge of the Green Party of Canada considered an asset
- Must have a demonstrated ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Excellent networking skills, ability to motivate volunteers
- Experience delivering training workshops
- Attention to detail and the ability to accurately manage large amounts of electronic data
- Ability to use computer software, including spreadsheets, databases, Google docs
- Political party or NGO organizing experience is an asset
