Affordable
Housing
We will make the largest investment in public housing since the 1970s, and clamp down on big investors driving up prices.
Learn MoreI’m running for Member of Parliament in the Calgary Nose Hill riding because I believe Canadian democracy can – and should – be a friendly competition of ideas to make our country a better place for everyone.
I believe we need to protect Canadians from both the immediate economic threats posed by the Trump administration, as well as the long-term threats of a rapidly changing climate. I believe we can grow a sustainable economy while reducing our dependence on oil and gas in the coming decades. I believe we can put Canadians to work in high-paying jobs and ensure large corporations pay their fair share of taxes. I believe we need electoral reform and proportional representation. I believe we need meaningful and ongoing reconciliation with Indigenous peoples. I believe we need to invest in affordable housing and healthcare. Most of all, I believe Canada is a nation of nations that is strong and free, and there is nothing we cannot do when we work together despite our differences.
I was born in Calgary and grew up in Huntington Hills with my parents, Ken and Jody, and younger brother, Ethan. In 2013, I graduated with honours from John G. Diefenbaker High School and worked a construction job to save money for university. I’ve been an entrepreneur from a young age. As a kid, I earned money raking leaves for the neighbours on my street. Today, at 30 years old, I run my own eco-friendly landscaping business, raise chickens, and grow most of my own food.
In my early twenties, I moved to the Maritimes to explore a different part of Canada, and in 2022 I graduated from the University of New Brunswick with an Honours Degree with a major in Political Science and a minor in History. Now, in one of the most important elections in Canadian history, I want to repay my home community by putting my name forward as the Green Party candidate for the Calgary Nose Hill riding to ensure voters have a choice to support Green policies and principles.
My interest in politics began after volunteering for a non-profit organization in Greece that provided clothes, shoes, and other essentials to refugees fleeing the Syrian civil war. I saw how people were impacted when their government abandoned them. After meeting so many people who had lost everything, I gained a new appreciation for Canadian democracy and our founding principles of peace, order, and good government. In 2019 I attended the United Nations Climate Change Conference with Elizabeth May, where I learned just how dire the climate emergency is and that we are the last generation with the power to stop it. I was inspired to run after listening to Co-Leader of the Green Party, Jonathan Pedneault, talk about the need to defend Canadian sovereignty, strengthen our international alliances, and invest in the defence of our arctic waters in a warming world.
We need to have more grown-up and nuanced conversations about climate change, the economy, and the oil and gas industry. Climate change is already costing Canada billions, so let’s plan ahead and invest in solutions that keep Canadians safe, secure, and healthy long into the future. Doubling down on fossil fuels is not the answer – but neither is “turning off the taps” on oil and gas overnight. I believe the Green Party platform addresses these challenges by putting workers and their families first. We can create high-paying public and private-sector jobs in renewable energy, emergency response capacity, and modernize Canada’s infrastructure and military for the challenges ahead.
Canadians have overcome divisive political challenges before and we will do it again. I encourage you to consider the Green Party platform this election, and I hope you will trust me with your vote to represent you in the House of Commons.
