Cheryle Baker is a passionate advocate for social justice, public service, and environmental issues, with a proven background in law. Over the years, she has built a strong track record of utilizing legislation to meet the needs of individuals and businesses. One of her most notable contributions has been to the Waterloo Region Grassroots Response, a charity she became deeply involved with. Thanks to her efforts, the charity has seen remarkable growth, expanding its reach beyond Waterloo Region to assist even more communities in need.

Cheryle’s dedication to advocacy spans a wide array of causes, including cancer research, epilepsy awareness, food banks, shelters, housing, education, and healthcare. Her tireless work has earned recognition from local city officials, media outlets, and political parties, including the PC Party. A deeply committed member of her Oxford community, Cheryle has also made significant contributions to the agriculture sector, as well as industries like automotive and aerospace. These efforts have supported local businesses, boosted employment, and created lasting economic opportunities.

As an Indigenous Hungarian Canadian and a caregiver, Cheryle brings a diverse and unique perspective to her work, which drives her advocacy for policy and legislative changes that benefit the broader community. She is also deeply involved in education, mentoring apprentices, and championing policies that empower future generations.

In her bid for the Oxford by-election, Cheryle’s commitment to advancing Green Party values and addressing critical issues like climate change and environmental sustainability has made her a standout candidate. As Green Party Co-Leaders Elizabeth May and Jonathan Pednault both emphasized, Cheryle’s dedication to her constituents and to the Green Party’s mission makes her an outstanding choice for Parliament.

What It Means
To Vote Green

  • It means putting communities first. Green MPs have the freedom to vote based on local priorities, not party politics. We stand firmly for Canadian communities and values against all threats.

  • It means fighting for economic fairness. Our plan provides cost-of-living relief for working Canadians while protecting jobs and businesses from economic disruptions.

  • It means building lasting prosperity. Our climate strategy creates good jobs and strong communities that can weather future challenges. We plan for generations, not election cycles.
