With his scientific mindset and humanistic heart, Félix-Antoine Bérubé-Simard advocates for the principles of “One Health” and sustainable bioeconomy.

A graduate in microbiology (2004), he later completed graduate studies in molecular biology, focusing on better understanding the onset of certain respiratory issues, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases.

Driven by a deep-seated need to help the underprivileged since childhood, he redirected his research in 2015 to support children with rare diseases, particularly by improving genetic screening for children suffering from CHARGE syndrome.

Wanting to also assist Canadian businesses in the biotechnology sector, he decided in 2020 to change direction and focus on innovation consulting for companies. Through this work, he integrates circularity, sustainability, and biodiversity to help propel small and medium-sized enterprises in the agri-environmental, food, and pharmaceutical industries.

To put his expertise in health and environmental sciences at the service of others, he took the leap into politics in 2022 with the Green Party of Quebec. During this campaign, he also began working with the Movement for a Zero-Waste City, supporting their citizen science efforts, particularly in monitoring pollution generated by Quebec City’s incinerator.

Convinced that Canada’s economic health depends on optimizing both the physical and mental well-being of its people and ecosystems, Félix-Antoine Bérubé-Simard is committed to building a Canada that is both prosperous and environmentally responsible.
