In 2006 I ran for the Green Party in Winnipeg Centre because climate change wasn’t a priority for any of the other parties.

I’m running again in 2025 because the climate crisis is worse than we had predicted 20 years ago, yet it’s still not the top priority for the other parties. We need to stand up and shout out that nothing else matters if we don’t take care of our planet. The Greens are the only ones who put the most important issue first.

Winnipeg Centre is my home. It’s where I live and work. I have lived in Winnipeg Centre for over 15 years, and I’ve owned and operated Heartland International English School in Winnipeg Centre since 1999. At Heartland we bring people from all over the world to learn English and experience Canada. There’s no better place than Winnipeg Centre to experience and understand the culture, creativity, complexity, and challenges of Canada. This is the best place in Canada for international students and I’ve been a champion for this place my entire career.

I have a B.A., J.D., and an MBA from the University of Manitoba. I was an elected trustee for the Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) from 2006 to 2014. I was chair of the Board of Trustees when LRSD was the first school division in Manitoba to establish a comprehensive diversity policy. I served as a volunteer executive member for the Manitoba Council for International Education for 22 years, including its president from 2014 to 2018. I have been a board member for Languages Canada for 8 years and currently serve as the President of the association. My life and work experience along with my education, political experience, and volunteer commitments are why you should elect me to be your representative for Winnipeg Centre.

What It Means
To Vote Green

  • It means putting communities first. Green MPs have the freedom to vote based on local priorities, not party politics. We stand firmly for Canadian communities and values against all threats.

  • It means fighting for economic fairness. Our plan provides cost-of-living relief for working Canadians while protecting jobs and businesses from economic disruptions.

  • It means building lasting prosperity. Our climate strategy creates good jobs and strong communities that can weather future challenges. We plan for generations, not election cycles.
