Artist, educator and cultural builder, Kevin McKenna is deeply rooted in Sherbrooke, his hometown. The eldest of five boys in a well-known family of florists in Quebec, he grew up immersed in a community he has always supported through his social, artistic and educational engagement.

A graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn (BFA, 1974), Kevin took part in the Corridart exhibition during the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games. This important outdoor exhibition, dismantled by the city authorities at night, became a powerful symbol of artistic resistance in Quebec.

Upon returning to the Eastern Townships, Kevin was an active member of the Regroupement des artistes des Cantons de l’Est, and helped establish the Horace gallery – now Sporobole – in downtown Sherbrooke.

For many years, he contributed to the magazine L’œil nu, and is now a member of the editorial team of the community newspaper Entrée libre.

Versatile and creative, Kevin has also worked as a freelance translator, graphic designer, ultralight aircraft instructor — having built his own planes — and is a singer-songwriter.

From 2006 to 2022, he taught visual arts at Champlain College in Lennoxville, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students through his  insightful and committed approach.

Now running as the Green Party of Canada candidate in Sherbrooke, Kevin wants to put his experience, creativity and deep local roots to work in support of ecological transition, social justice, and democratic renewal. His vision is grounded in decades of observation, creation, and hands-on community involvement.

A devoted father and longtime resident of downtown Sherbrooke, Kevin is a strong advocate for vibrant communities, accessible culture, and a future where a healthy environment is not optional — but essential.

What It Means
To Vote Green

  • It means putting communities first. Green MPs have the freedom to vote based on local priorities, not party politics. We stand firmly for Canadian communities and values against all threats.

  • It means fighting for economic fairness. Our plan provides cost-of-living relief for working Canadians while protecting jobs and businesses from economic disruptions.

  • It means building lasting prosperity. Our climate strategy creates good jobs and strong communities that can weather future challenges. We plan for generations, not election cycles.
