Six people of diverse backgrounds in a collaborative protest, surrounding a circle saying "Change, Vote for it".

Philip is a first-generation Canadian with a long history of support for the Green Party and environmental causes.

His study of complex dynamical systems led him to appreciate the urgent need to mitigate our environmental impact and restore a healthy ecosystem capable of sustaining human life. He believes this kind of large-scale group action can be motivated through a carefully chosen combination of incentives, fees and messaging, which federal government is in a position to provide. It is possible to build a fair society with thriving communities based on an economy that is as sustainable as its ecological footprint. Philip has the experience and commitment to make it happen!

After completing a Theoretical Physics Ph.D. at Yale University, Philip worked as professor of Physics (Knox College), then Mathematics (University of Toronto), then Computer Science (Simon Fraser University – Centre for Digital Media). He founded a successful BC software company (SchemaSoft) which he sold to Apple. He served as a software research scientist at Apple and at Google. He has developed software to help with ecological urban planning, with measuring the sources of carbon emissions, and with developing strategies to mitigate them. He has also developed world-leading medical AI to assist doctors and enable truly universal health care. He and his family live in Penticton on a cherry farm that employs local farmers and maintains the Agricultural Land Reserve.

What It Means
To Vote Green

  • It means putting communities first. Green MPs have the freedom to vote based on local priorities, not party politics. We stand firmly for Canadian communities and values against all threats.

  • It means fighting for economic fairness. Our plan provides cost-of-living relief for working Canadians while protecting jobs and businesses from economic disruptions.

  • It means building lasting prosperity. Our climate strategy creates good jobs and strong communities that can weather future challenges. We plan for generations, not election cycles.
