Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada, is Proud to Announce the Latest Change to the Party’s Shadow Cabinet

WINNIPEG -The Green Party nominated candidate for the Elmwood-Transcona by-election, Nicolas Geddert, will take on the role of Labour critic. "With the September 16 by-election in the Winnipeg riding of Elmwood-Transcona, we want to highlight the Green Party’s commitment to the trade union movement. Winnipeg has a long history in defending the rights of workers. Green candidate Nic Geddert is no academic champion of labour rights, but he has worked in residential, commercial, and industrial construction in many capacities, from digging dirt to planning and supporting multi-million dollar projects, driving heavy equipment, and hauling wheelbarrows. He is currently looking forward to becoming a geothermal installer, and is doing his part to make our communities more affordable and sustainable" said Elizabeth May.

Nicolas Geddert is no stranger to hard work and will, if elected as the next MP for Elmwood-Transcona, put the needs of his constituents first. The Green Party is the only party that supports MPs in using their own judgment and life experience in deciding how they will vote and where they will dedicate their energy. There is no party whip in the Green Party. The job of a Green MP is to work for their constituents - with honesty and integrity.

A by-election is the perfect time to send a clear message to the Liberals and Conservatives that the status quo is not working.
