Caring
for Canadians
Supporting People at Every Stage of Life
Too many Canadians struggle to care for their families. Parents can’t find affordable child care. Young people face huge student debts and high living costs. Working people can’t get time off to care for sick family members. Seniors worry about paying their bills. The Green Party believes that caring for each other makes our whole society stronger. We’ll make sure everyone gets the support they need.
Making Life Better for All Generations
Everyone deserves support to live a good life. Here are some of the things we’ll do:
- Create universal early learning and child care that every family can afford
- Expand paid leave to elder care, miscarriage, and other family needs
- Make college and university free so students can learn without going into debt
- Introduce a Guaranteed Livable Income, so no one lives in poverty
Supporting Care Work
Quality care takes skilled workers and proper funding. We’ll fund more child care centers with trained early childhood educators. We’ll help more people train as care workers. We’ll support home care services for seniors. We’ll create intergenerational cohousing for elders and youth. And we’ll make sure family members who care for loved ones get both financial support and workplace protection.
We’re all better off when we take good care of each other.
