Ready, Not Just Reacting
Canada faces more disasters every year. Fires and floods destroy communities. Supply chains break down. Disease outbreaks threaten public health. But governments only react after disasters strike. The Green Party has a better plan. We’ll get ready for emergencies before they happen. We’ll make sure communities have what they need to face future crises.
A Better Way to Handle Emergencies
Canada can be future-ready. Here are some key points of our plan:
- Create a new national emergency response agency
- Build stronger infrastructure to protect drinking water and prevent floods
- Reduce wildfire risks through better forest management and fire breaks
- Ensure Canada can produce its own emergency supplies like vaccines and safety equipment
Building Stronger Communities
Getting ready for emergencies means more than just responding to disasters. We’ll help determine where flood and fire risks are highest. We’ll assist communities to prepare for extreme weather. We’ll make sure remote and Indigenous communities get the support they need. And we’ll ensure emergency responders have the right training and equipment.
