Standing Up Against Discrimination
Hate is growing in Canada and around the world. Muslims, Jewish people, Black people, Asian people, LGBTQ2+ people, and other communities face rising threats. Online lies fuel hatred and division. Some political leaders even promote and exploit this division. The Green Party will fight back against all forms of hate. We’ll work to make Canada safe and welcoming for everyone.
Taking Real Action
No one should face violence or fear because of who they are. Here are some steps we’ll take to stop the hate:
- Strengthen laws against hate speech and hate groups
- Fund community programs that fight discrimination
- Protect LGBTQ2+ rights and access to gender-affirming health care
- Combat racist practices in policing and law enforcement
Building a Canada for Everyone
Everyone deserves to feel safe and welcome in Canada. We’ll change the law to make online platforms fully responsible as publishers. This means they’ll be legally responsible for everything they publish, just like newspapers and TV stations. We’ll support programs that teach people how to spot false information. We’ll also fix discriminatory practices in public services. Every Canadian should have the same chances to succeed, no matter their background.
Canada is stronger when we celebrate our differences. Hate and fear make us weaker. Help us build a country where everyone belongs.
