Learn MoreAnna Keenan: A Visionary Leader for Progressive Change
With one foot in science and another in public service, Anna Keenan blends analytical thinking and passionate commitment in her leadership style. Her journey spans 15 years of international climate action and democracy advocacy, followed by two years as a municipal public servant—a path that has shaped her into a pragmatic, globally informed candidate.
Holding degrees in physics and economics, Anna isn’t interested in political rhetoric. She’s driven by evidence, committed to policy that works for local communities, and is unafraid to champion transformative solutions—whether addressing healthcare, housing, or climate challenges. Her search for global best practices, beyond what can often be a limited debate within Canada and the U.S., sets her apart from conventional political thinking.
Anna and her husband Robert, a local small-business owner in craft brewing, live with their energetic 9-year-old boy in a rural farmhouse they’ve renovated DIY. Together, the family are all-season outdoor sports enthusiasts, frequenting Brookvale Provincial Park. Anna can occasionally be spotted stilt-walking in the Island’s Gold Cup and Saucer and Pride parades, or the River Clyde Pageant.
Anna has applied her strengths in strategic planning and governance with nonprofit boards both locally and nationally, including Fair Vote Canada, the PEI Greens, and River Clyde Arts. This is her third election run, and her enthusiasm remains undiminished: she’s ready to amplify her community’s voice in Ottawa.
Community Priorities
Anna wishes to champion the following priorities in this election:
Respond firmly to a hostile U.S. by strengthening Canadian ownership of supply chains, diversifying Canada’s international trading and diplomatic relationships, and having frank conversations about the role of the fossil fuel industry in the U.S.-Canada relationship.
Housing as a Human Right. Tackle affordability through bold, evidence-based public investment, drawing inspiration from successful post-WWII housing models.
Defending democracy and human rights in Canada and abroad, especially as the U.S. backslides into autocracy.
Defending environmental protections for Canada’s natural heritage—our waters, farmland, forests, and climate—to ensure that our children do not pay a long-term cost for decisions made today.
Resolving the healthcare crisis through rapid expansions in family medicine residencies, while looking at comprehensive reforms to the Canada Health Act.
Anna Keenan isn’t just running for office—she’s championing a vision of Canada that is resilient, innovative, and deeply committed to collective well-being.
