Affordable
Housing
We will make the largest investment in public housing since the 1970s, and clamp down on big investors driving up prices.
Learn MoreMy slogan is “Better, Not More!” This means building an economy that improves the lives of ordinary Canadians—creating jobs that pay enough for a good quality of life.
Now that I’m a grandfather, I am doing my very best for my grandchildren. For me, that means healing the Earth and its people from the damage we have done. The only path forward I see is Green, Seventh-Generation Thinking—making decisions today with the well-being of future generations in mind.
As a Chemical Engineer turned High School Physics Teacher, who also worked as a consultant for the Department of National Defence, I have always had kids and their future at the heart of my work. I was first inspired to run as a Green candidate in 2011 after experiencing a severe illness, and I have been involved in every election—provincial or federal—ever since, either with the local EDA or as a candidate.
My goal as a candidate is to shift the conversation—away from an obsession with economic growth and toward a discussion of how we can live well today without destroying the future of our grandchildren. In this election, that means escaping the trap of “Business as Usual” (BAU):
A counterproductive free trade deal with the USA that undermines local industries.
An increasing GDP that paradoxically reduces both our quality of life and standard of living.
An unsustainable cost of living, paired with an environment polluted by toxic chemicals like PFAs, which have driven our birthrate to collapse well below replacement levels.
We can escape this BAU trap by creating more local jobs and supporting a local, small-business-friendly economy.
I see hope for my grandchildren in a Green and sustainability-focused economic system, and I will work tirelessly with all Canadians who share this vision—to make that dream a reality.
