Blair Mahaffy is a lifelong resident of southeastern Manitoba. Born in Winnipeg, he spent summers in the Whiteshell, raised a family in Lorette, and now lives at West Hawk Lake. In his job as a software developer working with small, independent retailers across Canada, he is known for his empathy and understanding of both technical and business challenges.

Through his occasional work as a horseback riding trail guide, he enjoys engaging with people from all over Canada and the world. Passionate about community and the collective good, he is currently involved in several community initiatives in the South Whiteshell, including volunteering at community events, co-hosting a weekly music jam, and moderating a monthly conversation café to bring people together to talk about a variety of important and engaging topics.

His involvement with the Green Party both provincially and federally is rooted in a passion for meaningful electoral reform, which would bring a variety of voices to the table in a spirit of cooperation and consensus. Blair believes that to “live within our means” is to live within the planet’s resources, on which the economy is fully dependent. His sense of fairness and equity extends to his support of well-funded public healthcare and education systems as well as poverty reduction through Universal Basic Income.

What It Means
To Vote Green

  • It means putting communities first. Green MPs have the freedom to vote based on local priorities, not party politics. We stand firmly for Canadian communities and values against all threats.

  • It means fighting for economic fairness. Our plan provides cost-of-living relief for working Canadians while protecting jobs and businesses from economic disruptions.

  • It means building lasting prosperity. Our climate strategy creates good jobs and strong communities that can weather future challenges. We plan for generations, not election cycles.
