Daniel Birrell has a background as an educational assistant and disability care professional; since a health issue in 2020, he’s stayed at home with his kids.

He’s currently a volunteer and administrator for Hold My Hand Alberta, a group dedicated to bringing awareness to the impacts of cuts to education funding and helping families with children with disabilities find programs and funding, as well as one of the creators and runners of Alterside LARP, a community sport and social club group currently local to Spruce Grove. He’s lived in Parkland for 10 years, with his wife, two kids and dog, Chewie.

Daniel has been a tireless advocate for education workers, students, mental health and disabilities for years now. Since a turn in his health during the pandemic, he’s been forced to use a wheelchair or other mobility aids at times. He wants every voice to be heard and careful thought given to every vote and issue brought up. When constituents from our area need a voice, he wants to be there to work with the province to help solve any issues  that may come up. With his background he’s hoping to bring a grounded attitude and the support of his constituents to the House of Commons and help raise the voices of Parkland together.

What It Means
To Vote Green

  • It means putting communities first. Green MPs have the freedom to vote based on local priorities, not party politics. We stand firmly for Canadian communities and values against all threats.

  • It means fighting for economic fairness. Our plan provides cost-of-living relief for working Canadians while protecting jobs and businesses from economic disruptions.

  • It means building lasting prosperity. Our climate strategy creates good jobs and strong communities that can weather future challenges. We plan for generations, not election cycles.
