Every voter deserves a candidate worthy of their vote. And every community deserves a representative in the federal government who will consistently and tirelessly advocate for that community and its needs.

Langley Township–Fraser Heights has a significant agricultural industry and a wonderful array of parks and trails. Agriculture and outdoor recreation dominate the local economy, and I understand both sectors well. That’s what motivates me to run for office.

I am a retired Professional Forester, with expertise in silviculture. I represented the Fraser Timber Supply Area Coalition, working to achieve its tree-growing goals by administering its significant Forest Investment Account funds, primarily for aerial fertilization.

A major part of my career has been environmental education, helping people understand the natural world around them. I worked as a natural history interpreter for B.C. Parks for many years, as well as for Surrey Parks, where I helped students connect with the parks and riparian areas in Surrey.

I also have expertise in wetland conservation. I have served on the board of the Fraser Valley Watersheds Coalition and the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve Society for many years, actively participating in hands-on restoration projects. In 2021, I earned a Bachelor of General Studies in Wetland Conservation & Advocacy from the University of the Fraser Valley.

Currently, I advocate for tree protection and riparian restoration by volunteering with various conservation groups, including:

– Save Our Sloughs
– Chilliwack Urban Forest Advocates
– Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve Society
– Chilliwack Park Society

In addition, I am very active in the P.E.O. Sisterhood, which supports the education of women. I also serve on the board of the Chilliwack Museum and Historical Society and the board of the Rotary Club of Chilliwack.

My goal within the Green Party of Canada is to connect with the voters of Langley Township–Fraser Heights, so they know that I am a candidate who will speak up for:

– Climate action, by voting against fossil fuel subsidies and redirecting those funds toward developing sustainable energy alternatives.
– Restoration and protection of the region’s precious wetlands.
– Protection and enhancement of agriculture.
– Preservation and promotion of the area’s rich heritage.
– Developing employment opportunities in all these sectors.

I see Langley Township–Fraser Heights as a rich and diverse community, one of the best places in British Columbia to live and work. When citizens have good jobs and live in a healthy environment, they contribute to the overall prosperity of the country.
