Captured by the concept of the “Triple Bottom Line,” Mary Ann first ran for the Green Party of Canada in 2008.

Since that time, Mary Ann has been very active in the London community, including twice sitting on the city’s environmental advisory committee, where she was instrumental in getting the City of London to declare a climate emergency.

This experience led her to start Climate Action London – a grassroots community group that advocates for climate action and education, publishing a weekly email newsletter with over 1,300 subscribers.  This group also helps organize Earthfest London, a free community festival every April to celebrate the work that groups and businesses are doing in London and an annual plant sale to bring more native plants to London gardens.

Mary Ann is running for office because she hears from people who are looking for change. She sees the number of voters decreasing, while anger and anxiety are increasing. Canadians are being divided when we really need to come together. Mary Ann believes we have the opportunity to address many of the crises of today by focusing on root causes, not just symptoms.

Mary Ann has experience identifying areas of need and working to find solutions.  From helping to raise $7M for Indwell’s supportive housing projects to address increased homelessness in London; to revitalizing Camp Kee-Mo-Kee to provide London area youth an experience in nature; and becoming a foster parent with her partner, Tom; Mary Ann takes action.

Now, she’s running to represent London Centre in Parliament because she believes our community deserves someone who wants to take action in Ottawa.

What It Means
To Vote Green

  • It means putting communities first. Green MPs have the freedom to vote based on local priorities, not party politics. We stand firmly for Canadian communities and values against all threats.

  • It means fighting for economic fairness. Our plan provides cost-of-living relief for working Canadians while protecting jobs and businesses from economic disruptions.

  • It means building lasting prosperity. Our climate strategy creates good jobs and strong communities that can weather future challenges. We plan for generations, not election cycles.
